The Mobile Patient Isolation Unit (MPIU) is a self-sustaining medical relief solution that provides an immediate mobile medical assessment and treatment facility. The MPIU can be rapidly deployed and set-up adjacent to (as an extension of), or remotely from a fixed base medical facility. The MPIU consists of two self-contained patient isolation rooms and one medical staff room. Each patient is independently isolated in an approx. 11’ 10” x 9’ x 7’ high, self-contained “hospital room”, with its own restroom and hand-wash stations. Each hospital room has its own negative pressure which draws in fresh outside air through the AC unit and other vents, then exhausted through a powerful high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) unit, which removes airborne particles down to 0.3 micron in size with 99.97% efficiency. The MPIU is skid-mounted and can be transported by roll-off truck/trailer bed or crane lift placement.
